In disability services, an NDIS audit is when an approved auditor examines your services to see if they comply with current standards and are up to date.

NDIS Practice Standards provide service providers and support workers with a gold standard. They are a set of guidelines that cover specific areas which highlight person-centred practice when supporting people with disability:

Demonstrated continuous improvement in incident management including seeking of participant and worker views and incorporating feedback throughout the organisation.

Quality
The provider’s quality management system supports continuous improvement including feedback from participants and workers.

OPPORTUNUTIES FOR IMPROVEMENT

Governance
Org chart pathways need to be linked to compatible areas such as WHS, quality and safeguarding.

Human Resources
Consider the review of positions descriptions to be specific to the roles staff are performing.

Incident Management
Consider a prompt for refresher training, which is in implementation at the time of audit.

Quality
Consider periodic review of organisational risk manual on a regular basis.
