Chair

John, Access Director
John Clare BSc, Dip Ed, MBA UNSW

John was appointed as a director in February 2020 and is also a member of the Audit Committee. In November 2021 he was elected Chairman of the Board. John holds a Bachelor of Science, Dip Ed from the University of NSW, and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of NSW.

He is also a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. John was previously Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of a national importer, distributor, and manufacturer of technical engineered products and services.

Chief Executive Officer

Daniel Castle

Dan was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Access Industries in February 2026.

He brings over 20 years of experience across manufacturing, logistics, and service-based organisations, with a focus on operational transformation, digital capability, and business growth. Before joining Access Industries, Dan held executive roles at Spinal Cord Injuries Australia, including Executive Director, Strategic Innovation and Growth and Chief Information Officer, where he led organisation-wide transformation across technology, customer experience, and business development.

Earlier in his career, Dan held senior leadership roles at BlueScope Steel across Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service and Marketing functions, delivering large-scale operational improvements across Australia and New Zealand.

Dan has extensive experience in regulated and quality-driven environments and is focused on strengthening Access Industries’ long-term sustainability, growth, and impact in supported employment.

Directors

Emma Costello FCCA, CA, GAICD

Emma was appointed as a director in October 2016. Emma is currently a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees. Emma is employed as a Chief Financial Officer and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand, and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Yvonne Brennan BSc, Post Grad Marketing, MAICD

Yvonne was appointed as a director in October 2022. Yvonne holds a Bachelor of Science, from the University of Sydney and post-graduate Marketing from the University of NSW.

She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Yvonne is the founder and director of Barangaroo Consulting which specialises in growth, innovation, and customer strategy. She advises the government, NFP, and top blue-chip companies.

Peter Gulliver

Peter has been employed with the Company for over 30 years. In April 2002, he was appointed to fill a casual vacancy for a director and was subsequently elected to that position in October of that year. He has continued as an elected director since that time. In 2013 he was appointed as Information Technology Manager.

Bandula Gonsalkorale, MBA (AGSM), CPA, MAICD

Bandula was appointed as a director in November 2016. In October 2019 he was elected Chairman of the Board till November 2021. Bandula is also a member of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee. Bandula is a freelance management consultant. He held senior management positions in the overseas development sector for 15 years and served in the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) Code of Conduct for six years, including two as Deputy Chair. Previously, Bandula held senior management positions in several commercial organisations in Australia. Bandula is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Leisa Rathborne

Leisa joined the Board of Directors in June 2023. Leisa holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Health Management. She graduated from the Australian Public Service Commission Women in Leadership Program, ACHS Surveyor Training. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Having served as an active board member on the Royal Hospital For Women Foundation and St George & Sutherland Medical Research Foundation and is a passionate mentor of future generations. She is a transformational leader with a proven track record in leading cultural change, patient safety improvements and delivering high-quality care, clinician and community engagement, service development and risk management.
