Access appoints Peter Roberts in Safety and Training

Access Industries is pleased to welcome Peter Roberts to the team, as Safety and Training Coordinator.  Peter will be based at the company’s Newcastle timber manufacturing plant.

The role primarily involves developing and improving safety processes and systems to protect employees, equipment and the environment, and assessing and training supported employees.

Peter brings a wealth of experience to his role having previously managed teams in audit and review for compliance with Health and Safety Regulations, and leading investigations into onsite incidents and injuries.

“My aim is to establish good working relationships with all employees at Newcastle and deliver the necessary training and tuition to provide a safe and enjoyable workplace,” Peter said.

“In the short time I have been with Access, it is rewarding to see how keenly the team responds to learning about safety and the importance of training relevant to their tasks.”

Access CEO Rob Kirkham welcomes Peter’s experience.  “Our company is proud of our No Loss to Injury records in all sites across Newcastle, Western Sydney and Lithgow.  Peter is highly qualified to ensure our safety record remains solid at Newcastle.”

In other developments, at the company’s Western Sydney sites of Erskine Park and Horsely Park, Leah Miles has been promoted from Customisation Services Manager to Erskine Park Manager.

According to Rob Kirkham “We invest strongly in our own people.  It is very satisfying to be able to promote our own managers into expanding roles as the business grows and develops.”
