Next time you pick up a packet of Panadol at the chemist or supermarket, it is probably Lewis who packed it.
Lewis Schmid works at Access Industries as an integral member of the Panadol packing line. Along with his team, Lewis counts the individual boxes, packs them together and passes them along the line for end-packaging.
Lewis has been working with Access Industries for just over a year. Prior to that, he was involved in a very serious motorbike accident. The doctors didn’t think he would survive. But he did! And now, coming to work at Access Industries as a supported employee, Lewis is being helped to overcome some workplace challenges in support of his goal of regaining open employment.
When not hard at work on the packing line, Lewis likes to challenge himself with Indoor Climbing, and express his creative side with his Drumming Club. At home is always a busy affair with his mum and dad, three brothers, and pet dogs Cooper and Levi.
According to Lewis, the best thing about working at Access Industries is being part of the team. “Teamwork makes the dream work” is his mantra.
